AI Engineer

The JAAW Group is seeking an AI Engineer to support the War Data Platform (WDP) Core Integration for the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) in secure Department of Defense environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AI/ML lifecycle services and reusable components.
• Develop infrastructure to support training, validation, deployment, and operations of AI/ML models.
• Support model-serving platforms and efficient model inference.
• Design and implement automated AI/ML pipelines.
• Develop capabilities for model monitoring, explainability, and interpretability.
• Implement MLOps practices enabling continuous integration and deployment of models.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data pipelines meet AI/ML requirements.
• Develop testing frameworks and maintain technical documentation for AI/ML capabilities.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance required prior to onboarding.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience developing, integrating, or supporting AI/ML systems.
• Experience with AI/ML development tools, frameworks, or platforms.
• Understanding of model development, deployment, inference, testing, and monitoring.
• Strong programming, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting DoD or federal government environments.
• Experience with MLOps and automated model deployment pipelines.
• Experience with model-serving or inference capabilities.
• Experience with model monitoring, explainability, and performance optimization.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise software or data platforms.
