Job Description

Lead Data Engineer II role on Deloitte’s AI & Data team, driving scalable data engineering delivery for client engagements in Raleigh, NC (onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Lead small engagements or key workstreams within larger technology transformation programs for clients
  • Manage cross-functional, distributed delivery teams and client relationships across the engagement lifecycle
  • Contribute to proposal and business development efforts
  • Oversee the quality of team deliverables and recommendations
  • Contribute to hands-on solution delivery across distributed teams

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering and distributed data platforms, including:
    • Designing enterprise data models
    • Building ingestion pipelines
    • Developing ETL processes
    • Delivering data lakes and big data solutions
  • 3+ years designing and developing AWS-based data engineering solutions, with hands-on experience using:
    • AWS Glue
    • EMR
    • EKS
    • S3
    • Lambda
    • RDS
    • OpenSearch
    • CloudWatch
  • 2+ years leading and delivering engagements with geographically distributed, cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, information technology, or a related field
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
  • Ability to lead projects or workstreams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to mentor and provide clear guidance to others
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
