Principal Machine Learning Engineer

As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, you will operate at a senior technical leadership level, guiding system direction across multiple quarters while staying closely involved with architecture, experimentation, quality, and production systems.

What you’ll do

• Set systems and technical direction over multiple quarters, maintaining active involvement across architecture, experimentation, quality, and production.
• Work across model post-training, personalization and recommendation, and proactive and other agentic experiences.
• Lead end-to-end delivery on ambiguous problems by defining the approach, aligning partners, driving execution, and bringing solutions safely into production.

At Atlassian, compensation is designed to be equitable, explainable, and competitive. Base pay is set within the published range based on your skills, knowledge, and experience. Please confirm the zone for your specific location with your recruiter.

Salary range for this role in the United States (by geographic pay zone):

• Zone A: $236,700 - $309,025
• Zone B: $213,030 - $278,123
• Zone C: $196,461 - $256,491
