This onsite Los Angeles based role at City National Bank leads data strategy and analytics for Consumer Banking Pricing and Profitability, with a focus on optimizing profitability metrics and relationship profitability across consumer banking.
Overview
The organization seeks a data science professional to drive pricing and profitability analytics for Consumer Banking, guiding enterprise wide profitability metrics and acting as the Finance data steward for the Enterprise Data Warehouse. In this capacity, you will develop advanced analytics to optimize capital performance and relationship profitability across consumer businesses.
Responsibilities
- Develop pricing, profitability, and forecasting models to support Consumer Banking decisions.
- Serve as the data steward for Finance, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accessibility for profitability metrics.
- Analyze portfolio, customer, and product profitability to identify growth opportunities.
- Create reporting analytics to evaluate Line of Business Return on Capital performance, highlighting strengths and opportunities down to the relationship manager level.
- Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Technology, and business teams to improve data quality and reporting.
- Support pricing strategy through market, customer, and financial analysis.
- Present recommendations and insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics, or a related field, with expertise in consumer banking or financial services.
- 3+ years of experience with profitability metrics (RAR, RAROC).

Compensation
Starting base salary: USD 87,000 - 153,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
