At The Specialty Alliance, this role supports the revenue-accounting data product by building a governed transformation layer that turns heterogeneous source data into auditable, finance-approved outputs. Working onsite in Southlake, TX, you will design Snowflake-based models, translate accounting requirements into durable data logic, and deliver automated tests that help enable close-cycle and reconciliation use cases.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and maintain Snowflake transformation models for revenue, accrual, reconciliation, and close-support use cases.
- Translate accounting and business requirements into scalable SQL and analytics-engineering patterns, with strong documentation and version control.
- Create curated subject-area datasets for charges, payments, contractual adjustments, refunds, credit balances, unapplied cash, denials, reserves, and other finance-relevant concepts.
- Implement automated data tests for completeness, accuracy, period alignment, duplication, referential integrity, and reconciliation behavior.
- Partner with the Lead Data Engineer to implement canonical revenue-accounting models, reusable transformation standards, and deployment controls.
- Collaborate with the Revenue Accounting Data Product Owner and Finance Data Analyst to validate business logic, investigate variances, and refine outputs.
- Optimize model performance, lineage clarity, maintainability, and reusability across practices and future use cases.
- Support parallel runs, close-cycle validation, exception triage, and post-release issue resolution.
- Document transformation logic, finance definitions, test coverage, and release changes in a format that Finance and audit stakeholders can understand.
- Contribute to best practices for SQL, Python, Git, CI/CD, peer review, naming standards, and release management.
- Mentor junior analytics engineers or engineers assigned to future revenue-accounting workstreams.
