Blu Omega LLC supports data modernization and analytics initiatives for federal agency data needs, and this role helps deliver enterprise-scale data platforms in a hybrid work environment based in Ashburn, VA 20147 or the greater Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia area.
You will design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT and lakehouse-ready architectures, partnering with cloud engineering and cross-functional teams to help ensure data is integrated, governed, and usable for analytics, reporting, and data science.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL
- Build, optimize, and manage scalable data models, including data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse environments using Databricks
- Ingest, clean, validate, transform, and integrate large-scale datasets from APIs, relational databases, flat files, and unstructured sources
- Create data schemas and models that support analytics, reporting, and data science initiatives
- Implement data quality, metadata management, governance, and security controls to support trustworthy data
- Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to deploy and manage solutions in Microsoft Azure
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance and reliability using logging, alerting, and CI/CD practices
- Partner with data scientists and analysts to support evolving analytical requirements
- Document architecture, pipeline logic, data flows, and procedures to improve maintainability
What you bring
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related technical roles
- 6+ years hands-on experience with Python and SQL, including scalable ETL/ELT pipeline development
- 2+ years experience with cloud data ecosystems such as Azure Data Factory
- 1+ years experience with modern data processing and lakehouse technologies such as Databricks
- Strong knowledge of data integration across diverse sources and formats
- Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and architecture
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance principles
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident

Preferred qualifications

Compensation
Salary Range: USD 150,000 - 165,000 per year.
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
