Job Description
Join Lockheed Martin Corporation as a senior level AI Data Engineer in Fort Worth, TX with remote work options. This role offers a competitive salary range of USD 113,900 to 227,125 per year and a comprehensive benefits package. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data warehouses to support AI and ML initiatives, leveraging SAP HANA and modern cloud data services. The role emphasizes collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and mission stakeholders to operationalize AI models and knowledge graphs while upholding strict security, governance, and compliance standards. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure data pipelines that support classified AI and ML workloads
- Create ontology-based data models to enable knowledge representation and reasoning
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and mission stakeholders to operationalize AI models and knowledge graphs
- Enforce rigorous data validation, lineage tracking, and governance controls in line with security requirements
- Partner with data architects and analysts to deliver end-to-end data processing solutions
- Engage with business stakeholders to develop and deploy data analytics or custom software solutions and lead teams in implementing them
- Optimize performance and reliability of large-scale data systems in constrained environments
- Mentor junior engineers and uphold secure coding and engineering best practices
- Oversee collection, ingestion, processing, and storage of large datasets from diverse sources
- Perform impact analysis including data lineage and upstream/downstream dependencies
- Provide after hours on-call support on a rotating basis
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of data engineering experience, including at least 3 years supporting AI/ML systems, with a foundation in traditional BI and data warehousing concepts (ETL, data modeling, reporting)
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis or data/system architecture
- Experience gathering requirements and understanding business processes
- Strong proficiency in Python, NiFi, and SQL
- Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark or similar
- Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines at scale
- Familiarity with secure cloud environments (eg, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) or on-prem systems
- Understanding of data security principles, including encryption and access control
- Familiar with Safe Agile framework
