AI engineer

WRITER is building enterprise generative AI that delivers real production impact. In this hybrid role in New York, NY, you will architect and deploy high-performance AI applications and intelligent, data-grounded agents for WRITER’s enterprise platform. You’ll work on scalable systems, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and help maintain strong responsible AI practices for large language models.

What you’ll do

• Architect, develop, and deploy high-performance, scalable AI applications into production, ensuring reliable integrations with the end-to-end platform.
• Build intelligent agents and AI-powered features, turning complex research into practical capabilities for customers.
• Collaborate with research scientists, data scientists, and product managers to define technical requirements and deliver features tied to critical business needs.
• Support the research and evaluation of emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools to help keep pace in the enterprise generative AI space.
• Champion responsible AI, including bias detection, explainability, and safety alignment, so AI outcomes are trustworthy and ethical.

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional experience building and deploying machine learning or AI systems in production.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• A solid foundation in machine learning, deep learning architectures, and natural language processing, especially with large language models.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and MLOps tools for managing the AI lifecycle.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-tested code for scalable software systems.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strong interest in tackling complex technical challenges with creative AI solutions.

Compensation: USD 198,000 - 259,000 per year.
