Job Description
Micron’s Industrial and Physical AI team is transforming semiconductor manufacturing by applying AI, automation, and intelligent operations across the production lifecycle. As an early-career Full-Stack AI Engineer in Boise, ID (onsite), you’ll help design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications that support Micron’s Autonomous Operations initiatives, working across AI models, data pipelines, APIs, web interfaces, cloud infrastructure, and manufacturing system integrations.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and support end-to-end AI applications, including data pipelines, feature engineering, model inference, APIs, user interfaces, and monitoring.
- Build responsive front-end applications using React, Angular, or Streamlit, and develop backend services with Python and FastAPI.
- Integrate Generative AI capabilities, including LLMs and agentic workflows, into manufacturing and operational applications.
- Collaborate on integrations across robotics platforms, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automation systems, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
- Implement monitoring and quality practices including evaluation, drift detection, and feedback mechanisms for production reliability and scalability.
- Apply Responsible AI and software engineering standards, including security, audit logging, model governance, and performance optimization.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years developing and deploying production software applications, AI solutions, or related technologies.
- Proficiency in Python and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with SQL and relational database technologies.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to deploy and manage applications.
- Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts including prompt engineering, RAG, function/tool calling, agentic workflows, and AI model evaluation practices.
