Job Description

Hands-on Automation & Applied AI Engineer role building reliable workflow automation and integrating conversational AI into real business processes for remote teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain automation workflows using tools such as Microsoft Power Platform and Azure Logic Apps
  • Enhance existing automations by refactoring for reliability and maintainability
  • Troubleshoot automation failures and performance issues in production environments
  • Implement error handling and logging across automated processes
  • Develop conversational AI systems using Azure OpenAI or similar LLM platforms
  • Configure function calling and tool invocation so AI can take action in workflows
  • Integrate chatbot workflows with internal systems through REST APIs
  • Define structured outputs and JSON schemas to support dependable AI-to-system communication
  • Assist with building and maintaining MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers or similar middleware to extend AI capabilities
  • Connect systems using REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON-based payloads
  • Transform and validate data across CRM, marketing, and internal systems
  • Support reporting and monitoring for automated process performance
  • Perform work in alignment with Teachers of Tomorrow core values
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of experience in automation, systems integration, or process improvement
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform and/or Azure Logic Apps
  • Experience working with REST APIs and JSON
  • Exposure to LLM-based systems (Azure AI Factory, OpenAI, or similar)
  • Experience implementing function calling or tool-based AI integrations
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables

Location: Remote

Salary: USD 100,000–110,000 per year

Experience: 4+ years
