CMDB Data Engineer
Job Description
Leidos is seeking a CMDB Data Engineer to serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert for CMDB while leading a team as a Deputy Program Manager on the USCENTCOM CITS contract. This onsite role in Tampa, FL centers on maintaining CMDB accuracy and delivering data-driven insights to support enterprise IT operations. Compensation ranges from USD 107,900 to 195,050 per year.
Responsibilities
- Deputy Program Management: Support the Program Manager with contract execution, strategic planning, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Customer Engagement: Act as a secondary point of contact for USCENTCOM leadership and stakeholders, stepping in as PM when needed to ensure seamless program delivery.
- People Leadership: Directly supervise a team of IT and data professionals, conducting performance evaluations, career development planning, mentoring, and approving timecards and leave.
- Staffing & Onboarding: Oversee hiring, interviewing, and onboarding to maintain a highly skilled workforce.
- Program Reporting: Assist in evaluating contracts, managing program budgets or resource forecasts, and clearly communicating insights, risks, and plans to cross-functional teams and senior management.
- CMDB Management: Ensure CMDB accuracy while adhering to standard operating procedures within enterprise processes.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data and research issues using SQL and other query tools.
- CI Lifecycle Management: Manage the lifecycle of Configuration Items (IT services and assets) from deployment to decommission.
- Problem Solving: Break down complex problems into practical, actionable solutions.
- Data-driven Stakeholder Communication: Proactively analyze data to answer key questions and share findings to drive performance among stakeholders.
- CI Metrics: Define and document configuration item metrics across their lifecycle.
- Data Requirements & Quality: Gather information from multiple stakeholders to specify and validate business reporting or data extracts using data mapping and data quality techniques.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, identify improvement opportunities, and develop data-driven solutions using analysis and profiling.
- CM Procedures & Compliance: Establish and develop overarching Configuration Management procedures and compliance standards, defining responsibilities, authorities, and plan approval levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, with at least 8 years of relevant experience in data analysis, data science, configuration management, or related IT programs.
- Active TS/SCI clearance required.
- Program & People Management: 3+ years in a supervisory role managing technical personnel and assisting with program/project management tasks.
- 5+ years of experience in Configuration Management.
- 5+ years with ServiceNow, including CMDB administration and integration.
- Proven ability to ensure quality, accuracy, and usability of the ServiceNow CMDB.
- Ability to collaborate with ServiceNow Administrators.
- Experience configuring and integrating discovery tools and Sensors with the ServiceNow CMDB to import data from authoritative sources while preserving data integrity.
- Experience or participation in data normalization efforts prior to CMDB ingestion.
- Ability to perform routine CMDB data audits.
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to understand product demand and manage CMDB and platform data requirements.
