Data Analyst
Job Description
DCH Health System’s Data Analyst role supports Care Coordination by turning data from multiple systems into clear reporting, performance analysis, and actionable insights. In this onsite position in Tuscaloosa, AL, you will help manage the day-to-day flow of information, validate data quality, and deliver statistical reports that support planning, goals, and research efforts across the health system.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Manage the day-to-day operations of databases that support the collection and integration of data used to track daily operations and overall organizational performance
- Serve as a liaison between external data sources used to compare DCH performance
- Validate internal and external data quality to ensure reliable reporting
- Transfer data to external data sources as assigned
- Conduct performance analysis reports, including trends, projections, external comparisons, and correlations
- Create and distribute multiple statistical reports essential to DCH planning and goal achievement
This position also supports the DCH Care Coordination Department and its business and clinical processes, with a focus on appropriate utilization of resources, patient transitions across the continuum, appropriate documentation, and levels of care. You will design and deliver data analysis from systems including Midas, Medtech, Tableau, and 3M, and assist with special projects and research and data analysis efforts for the Health System.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Marketing, or a related field (required)
- Preferred experience in healthcare data management with research
- Microsoft Office intermediate skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (required)
- Preferred intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Access, Excel pivot tables, and Publisher
- Keyboarding experience required
- Ability to work independently, multitask, organize key projects, and prioritize tasks with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong team building skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills electronically, face-to-face, and over the phone
- Trained focus group moderator preferred
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
