Data Analyst, Data Operations TPA
Job Description
Monitor and improve data exchange operations for TPA clients, vendors, and internal systems while supporting EDI testing and pipeline quality.
Responsibilities
- Maintain understanding of workflows across operational departments involved in data exchange
- Provide regular updates on ongoing task status to end users and to the Team Lead or DataOps Manager
- Analyze mappings for insurance claims, import/export files, and eligibility files to troubleshoot operational inquiries
- Detect potential technical issues related to improper enrollment or enrollment changes in EDI files
- Coordinate with engineering partners to resolve EDI-related issues
- Coordinate ongoing EDI testing, implementations, and upgrades
- Troubleshoot and report operational error messages
- Troubleshoot and report file movement errors, including SFTP connection issues
- Compare reports and data files against documented business requirements to ensure data quality and identify gaps
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Lead or DataOps Manager
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with system analysis, data analysis, and/or process improvement
- 2+ years of experience in the Healthcare Industry
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; not required
- Knowledge of the Healthcare & TPA Industry preferred
- Excellent critical thinking and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Familiarity with flat file data structures such as CSV or pipe-delimited formats
- Experience using data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or other relevant software
- Demonstrated track record of analyzing data, reviewing requirements, and delivering insights that support business decisions
- Ability to collaborate with teams, facilitate discussions, and negotiate requirements
- Knowledge and/or experience with ANSI 5010 transactions (837, 835, 834, 270/271) preferred

Physical Requirements
- Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Occasionally move inside the office to access office machinery, filing cabinets, and meeting facilities
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (copy machine, computer printer, calculator, etc.)
- Frequently position self to maintain files in file cabinets
- Frequently move boxes or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Communicate information and ideas so others understand, with ability to exchange accurate information
- Observe details at close range
Compensation
- Base salary range: $60,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on location, skills, and experience
Location: Tempe, AZ (onsite)
