Luna Data Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to design structured data models, develop SQL driven data warehouses, and build reliable pipelines feeding analytics and operational applications across multiple manufacturing facilities. This onsite role in Butler, Indiana, involves collaboration with a data architect and other technical partners to deliver scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sophisticated SQL artifacts, including complex queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers to support analytics and operations.
  • Design and maintain centralized structured data models and warehouse environments used across several facilities.
  • Build, refine, and troubleshoot ETL and ELT pipelines to support large scale data ingestion.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across interconnected systems.
  • Monitor and optimize data workflows and query performance to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and operational teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Document data flows, schemas, and definitions for long term maintainability.
  • Adhere to data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Manage assigned work independently and deliver on commitments.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Engage in ongoing learning to stay current with evolving data technologies.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of professional SQL experience in a SQL heavy environment.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in data analytics or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with Qlik and/or Power BI, with Qlik being used more heavily across the group.
  • Proven background in data engineering, analytics engineering, or similar roles.
  • Strong SQL proficiency, including advanced queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Experience with relational databases and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience supporting BI, reporting, or analytics environments.
  • Familiarity with data quality monitoring practices.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, data warehouses, or data lakes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership of data solutions and deliverables.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, equivalent experience, or industry certifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
