Data Engineer

Onsite opportunity in Chantilly, VA with KBR to support a government client in Reston, VA. This Data Engineer role focuses on data‑driven problem solving, analytics, and delivering data products and solutions that empower operational decisions. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design scalable data workflows and actionable insights in a mission‑critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and deploy automated methods to optimize data and data products, with updates prepared for senior leadership
• Apply statistical techniques such as regression, anomaly detection, and clustering to derive meaningful insights
• Communicate data science activities, technical findings, and data products clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
• Integrate diverse data sources including Open Source, Publicly Available Information (PAI), Commercially Available Information (CAI), and intelligence records to assemble technical data packages
• Elicit and define system requirements, track milestones, and evaluate test results to validate performance and acceptance criteria
• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions with production‑quality code, version control, and robust technical documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
• 5+ years of progressive, relevant work experience
