Data Engineer III

Verily is building first-party data solutions to support research and care programs, and the Precision Health Platform is at the center of that effort. In this role, you will help power analytics by shaping how data is modeled and delivered across the stack, partnering with Product and Analytics needs while owning key parts of the data layer.

As a Data Engineer III, you will support Verily’s analytical data models and pipelines for its research and care initiatives, with a focus on delivering reliable, performant data that teams can build on.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continually improve analytical data models and data pipelines.
• Work with cross-functional partners to drive engineering solutions that deliver significant value to collaborators.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while adhering to agile principles and iterating as requirements change.
• Collaborate with engineers and analysts by contributing to technical designs and supporting data models that are intuitive, performant, and high quality.

What you bring

• BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics engineering, including SQL and ETL.
• 2+ years experience using dbt (data build tool).
• Experience collaborating and prioritizing across a broad organization.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience supporting software in the health care field.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming in a language such as Python or Go.

Location: San Bruno, CA (onsite). Compensation: USD 106,000 - 159,000 per year. Minimum experience: 4 years.
