Data Engineer Mid

Join Amentum onsite at Ford Island, Hawaii, as a Mid-Level Data Engineer focused on designing and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure to support intelligence operations. You will work on ETL and real-time processing while upholding IC security standards and robust data governance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data architectures to support intelligence operations, ensuring systems can handle growing data volumes
• Develop automated processes for data ingestion, transformation, and integration from multiple sources, including conditioning of non standard datasets
• Build efficient data storage solutions optimized for intelligence functions using SQL and NoSQL technologies
• Create and maintain data pipelines for both batch and real time processing to ensure timely availability of critical intelligence data
• Implement data quality controls and monitoring systems that ensure integrity and reliability of information
• Optimize query performance and data access patterns to support rapid retrieval of intelligence data by analysts
• Implement data governance practices and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with IC standards
• Develop and maintain comprehensive data documentation and lineage information to support data provenance requirements
• Create robust security measures to protect sensitive data in accordance with classification guidelines
• Collaborate with intelligence analysts to understand complex data requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions
• Actively participate in JIOC intelligence planning conferences and exercises, twelve working groups, intelligence system capability development meetings, Joint and national level intelligence coordination boards, and technical exchange meetings with mission partners

Requirements

• Proficiency in programming languages essential for data engineering, particularly Python (or R)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies
• Knowledge of ETL tools and data pipeline frameworks
• Demonstrated experience with cloud based data platforms and services
• Understanding of data governance principles and information security practices
• Experience designing and implementing data pipelines for batch and real time processing
• Demonstrated ability to optimize database performance and query efficiency
• Experience integrating data from multiple sources and in various formats
• Familiarity with intelligence data types and collection methodologies

Purpose and Impact

This position is contingent upon the award of contract, business needs, security clearance verification, and funding availability. The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain robust data pipeline architectures to support complex intelligence operations and develop scalable data infrastructure using industry standard practices for data integration and storage. The role supports multiple locations as needed.

Work Schedule

Standard 40 hour work week from 0600 to 1800, Monday through Friday. Shift work may be required as necessary.

Security Clearance Required

TS/SCI clearance is required. Willingness to take a polygraph if requested.
