Founding AI Engineer

Futureproofing is assembling its founding team to take an end-to-end AI platform for investment banking from MVP to production and market readiness. This Founding AI Engineer role centers on shipping AI features that work reliably for real customers, with LLMs, agents, RAG, and evaluation treated as core parts of the product.

What you’ll do

• Take the product from MVP to something real customers rely on
• Build with LLMs, agents, RAG, and evaluation as core product surface area, not bolt-on additions
• Work directly with the founding team on what gets built and why
• Own the system components that require hands-on responsibility, including the data pipeline, infrastructure, and model integration
• Move quickly alongside engineers who already know how to ship

What you bring

• 7+ years shipping production software, including meaningful time at an early-stage company
• Experience taking at least one AI-powered product from nothing to real users in production, including the ability to explain tradeoffs made along the way
• Comfort with modern full-stack and infrastructure work, typically TypeScript/React/Node and/or Python, with the ability to operate across the stack
• Uses AI tooling daily as part of how you actually build
• Comfort with ambiguity and with being the decision-maker
• Ability to discuss technical tradeoffs with non-engineers without losing alignment
• Founding engineer experience is a plus, with the note that this role will not follow a traditional founding-engineer scope of building and owning the whole system solo
