As an Analytics Engineer focused on Payments, you will design, build, and maintain services that process large volumes of financial data and deliver visibility into how money moves through the platform. You will work across Accounting, Finance, Biz Ops, Payments, and Product to ensure data readiness and reliable reporting that supports close processes, regulatory needs, and audits.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across engineering, accounting, financial partnerships, and product teams to analyze billions of dollars flowing through the Rippling payment platform.
- Build end-to-end analyses using SQL, Python, and other scripting or statistical tools; develop real-time dashboards to monitor key financial and operating levers.
- Oversee payment flows between systems, banks, processors, and inter-company accounts; perform daily reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Address emerging issues quickly by summarizing findings and making recommendations for timely resolution of critical financial matters.
- Partner with Accounting, Compliance, Treasury, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable reporting and reconciliation automation, including internal tools or third-party solutions.
- Document reconciliation processes and procedures comprehensively for consistency and knowledge transfer.
- Prepare data and reporting solutions that support month-end close, regulatory and compliance reporting, and internal/external audits.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders through concise reports and presentations.
Requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related fields.
- 4+ years applying analytics engineering, analysis, modeling, and exploratory analysis to large datasets, ideally in payments processing, quote-to-cash, or financial reporting.
- Experience with data warehousing, ETL, and reporting tools such as Snowflake, Tableau, dbt, and Dagster.
- Extensive SQL experience spanning the data science development lifecycle from initial analysis to deployment.
- History of collaborating with engineering, finance, and accounting teams to assess data needs and build automated reporting pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, capable of conveying findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and senior leadership across the organization.
- Bonus: experience with general accounting principles, the general ledger close process, and regulatory compliance.

You will enable visibility into every stage of the money movement lifecycle across the payments product ecosystem and support accurate settlement with customers, banks, and internal systems. This cross-functional role offers high visibility, including engagement with the executive team, and supports critical financial operations for multiple internal teams.
