Lead Data Scientist
Job Description
As a Lead Data Scientist, you will drive advanced analytics and machine learning that power Copper Hill’s SaaS platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of data validation methodologies to ensure reliable inputs and outputs
- Develop predictive models and machine learning solutions for product and customer impact
- Create training materials explaining Generative AI versus AI writ large
- Establish data science methodologies and best practices across projects
- Mentor data scientists and analysts through technical guidance and review
- Translate business requirements into analytical approaches and deliverable solutions
- Build machine learning models including classification, regression, clustering, and forecasting
- Optimize model performance and accuracy over time
- Define testing methodologies to measure performance of models on queries against multiple frontier model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Cohere)
- Implement reinforcement learning structures targeting different AI model providers
- Develop experimentation frameworks and A/B testing methods
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable data pipelines
- Support production deployment of models and ongoing readiness for release
- Ensure data quality and reproducibility across datasets and model runs
- Partner with Product Management to develop data-driven product features
- Embed machine learning capabilities into the SaaS platform
- Design APIs and services that expose model outputs to the application
- Develop solutions using Microsoft Azure data services
- Work with SQL Server and large structured datasets
- Support model deployment and monitoring in cloud environments
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data science or machine learning
- Experience deploying machine learning models into production systems
- Strong experience with Python or R, SQL, and machine learning frameworks
