Based in Seattle, WA on-site, this role sits on Apple's Video Computer Vision (VCV) Face and Body technologies team. You will collaborate with machine learning, data, and software engineers to ship features for visionOS and iOS, supported by a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for equity participation.

Overview

Apple's Video Computer Vision (VCV) Face and Body technologies team is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer with experience building ML models for computer vision and graphics applications. The role covers the full ML lifecycle—from data collection design and processing to model design, experimentation, validation, and field QA—applied to visionOS and iOS projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full ML cycle from data collection design and processing to model design, experiments, validation, and QA in real-world settings
• Adapt state-of-the-art methods or implement new approaches to ship features on visionOS and iOS
• Collaborate closely with other ML engineers as well as data and software engineers across teams
• Identify and build solutions to previously unsolved challenges in human representation and motion that affect millions of users

Requirements

• Software engineering skills and proficiency in Python
• Experience with PyTorch
• Independent problem solving skills
• BS degree and 10+ years of experience

Pay & Benefits

Base pay range for this role is between USD 175,000 and USD 308,500 per year. Base pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees may participate in discretionary stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. In addition, benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, product discounts and free services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses related to career development. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation assistance.
