Machine Learning Engineer - Recommendation Systems

SpaceXSI is hiring applied engineers to develop recommendation systems and ranking or search technologies for a high-priority platform used by approximately 600 million monthly users. The work blends algorithm design with production engineering, using SpaceXSI’s infrastructure and AI stacks to improve the experiences users get every day. This onsite role is based in Palo Alto, CA, with a compensation range of $180,000 to $440,000 USD per year.

What you’ll do

• Design and architect recommendation algorithms across multiple product surfaces
• Use SpaceXSI infrastructure and AI stacks to enhance user experience
• Build data pipelines and training jobs that continuously learn from product data
• Improve models by collecting real-time feedback through experimentation
• Ensure machine learning systems are scalable and run with efficient performance

What you’ll bring

• Knowledge of data infrastructure, including Kafka, Clickhouse, and Spark
• Experience implementing recommender systems and/or deep learning applications at industrial scale
• Proficiency with one or more deep learning frameworks, such as JAX or PyTorch
• Exceptional candidates may have experience writing CUDA kernels
