Machine Learning Engineer - Vision
Job Description
Hadrian Automation is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer focused on vision to own the machine learning lifecycle for detection and segmentation models within its manufacturing intelligence pipeline (Copilot/DFM). This onsite role in Torrance, CA centers on developing and deploying computer vision systems and building the tooling, evaluation, and data strategies that support them.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and deploy object detection and segmentation models for layout analysis, document understanding, and semantic part understanding
- Partner with the core engineering team to build and maintain annotation tooling, implement active learning loops, and engineer synthetic data augmentation strategies
- Create evaluation frameworks that measure system behavior and user impact beyond mAP/IoU
- Collaborate with other members of the machine learning team to define the technical and product roadmaps for the AI platform
- Address performance gaps across the long tail, since accuracy improvements translate to material time savings at Hadrian’s scale
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years of professional experience building and shipping computer vision models, with emphasis on detection and/or segmentation
- Deep expertise in modern architectures with transformer backbones (including ViT and Swin)
- Strong Python and PyTorch fluency, including experience writing custom training loops, loss functions, and data loaders when needed
- Production deployment ownership, including shipping models to production and being responsible for endpoint and model health
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered equally

Compensation
Target salary range: $160,000 - $250,000 per year. The actual range may vary based on experience.
