Overview

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Reporting Developer with Cloud Analytics Data Engineering responsibilities for our Savannah, Georgia operations. This role supports the Enterprise Reporting team within Gulfstream Business Technology and contributes to the Gulfstream Enterprise Reporting applications. Location: Savannah, GA 31401.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Engage with stakeholders and technology users to identify, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Develop plans aligned with schedules and independently execute them.
  • Ensure solution designs meet scalability, performance, and quality requirements in line with negotiated service level agreements; guide architecture and design decisions.
  • Delegate tasks to team members according to experience and accountability.
  • Ensure applications processes comply with applicable policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and upgrade reporting and data analytics applications and processes; develop and deploy systems, methodologies, standards, and processes to enable technical solutions.
  • Support management in recruiting, hiring, and career development.
  • Assist with the development of work breakdown structures, project plans, and required skills to develop and implement applications.
  • Document, develop, test, deploy, and support reporting and data analytics development using a variety of technical tools to meet business requirements.
  • Conduct briefings and participate in technical meetings on specific projects or activities.
  • Serve as a technical expert for one or more applications within a portfolio.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions. A total of nine years of relevant business or technical experience is required, including at least five years in reporting, data analytics, or related technical development and deployment. A Master’s degree may offset one year of experience; a PhD may offset two years.

Required Qualifications and Technical Skills

  • Minimum five years of experience with Azure Databricks or Python ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with medallion architecture and ingesting data from on premise systems to either Azure Databricks or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Proven ability to write production grade Python code for data ingestion, transformation, and export, including unit testing, reusable frameworks, error handling, disaster recovery, and robust logging.

Specialized Skill Sets

Databricks

  • Deep understanding of Unity Catalog, data lineage, access control, and audit logging; ability to enforce enterprise-wide data governance policies.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable, cost optimized, fault-tolerant data pipelines using Databricks Workflows, Declarative Pipelines, Delta Lake, and Auto Loader with a focus on modularity and reuse.
  • Experience securely ingesting data from on premise databases (for example SQL Server, Oracle) using CDC and batch approaches, extending existing pipelines or creating new ones.
  • Ability to implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for Databricks notebooks and workflows using Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Databricks Asset Bundles, including automated testing and deployment.
  • Familiarity with serverless cost models, usage monitoring, and optimization strategies to ensure efficient resource use and budget adherence.

Microsoft Fabric

  • Deep understanding of Lakehouse and Warehouse architecture and security.
  • Proven ability to configure pipelines, pipeline coordination, and pipeline monitoring.
  • Experience with performance optimization and monitoring.
  • Semantic modeling and Power BI experience.

Certifications

  • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile development methodology and working on an Agile team is preferred; multiple Agile based project deliveries and Certified Scrum Master are preferred.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies (SDLC).
  • Experience in testing including design and execution of test cases.
  • Ability to understand high volume and high complexity data structures to deliver analytics solutions that drive business insight and value.
  • Excellent presentation design and delivery skills.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate cross functional teams and meetings.
