Research Data Scientist, Ads Metrics, Ads Experiences

Research Data Scientist role supporting Google’s Ads Metrics and Ads Experiences efforts, focused on measurement for Search ads and analysis that helps improve AdsUI and overall page ad experiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders across projects and within team settings to identify and refine business or product questions.
• Translate business questions into tractable analysis plans, evaluation metrics, or mathematical models, and provide feedback to improve clarity and scope.
• Apply specialized knowledge to use custom data infrastructure or existing data models as needed for model design and evaluation.
• Design and evaluate models to mathematically express and solve defined problems, including situations with limited precedent.
• Collect information on business goals, priorities, and organizational context tied to the questions being answered.
• Understand existing and upcoming data infrastructure relevant to analysis and measurement.
• Own the data pipeline work: gather, extract, and compile data across sources using relevant tools (including SQL, R, and Python).
• Format, re-structure, or validate data to ensure dataset quality, and review datasets to confirm readiness for analysis.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a related quantitative field (including Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field).
• At least 3 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, including coding (Python, R, SQL) and querying databases or conducting statistical analysis, or a PhD degree.

Compensation

• USD 147,000 - 210,000 per year
