Senior Product Data Scientist, Discover Experience
Job Description
Google’s Discover Feed Experiences team is building user-facing experiences in the Discover product, focusing on elements that are not governed by ranking. As a Senior Product Data Scientist, you will use analytics and experiment-driven evaluation to inform strategy and measure the impact of new features and product changes.
This role blends statistical analysis with product thinking, helping teams turn research and usage signals into clear launch criteria and actionable insights across the Discover experience.
What you’ll do
- Perform analysis and define launch criteria for significant launches, including designing, implementing, and analyzing experiments to quantify the impact of new features and product updates.
- Conduct exploratory analysis to deepen understanding of users, identify behavior patterns, and recognize, size, and articulate new opportunities for Discover.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, UXR, and Design to support launch analysis, product iteration, and impact quantification.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, including statistical analysis and coding (for example, Python, R, SQL), or 5 years of work experience with a Master’s degree.

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and statistical concepts clearly and concisely across different audiences and levels.
- Excellent problem-framing, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills.
Compensation and benefits
- Salary: USD 163,000 - 236,000 per year
- Bonus: 15% target
