Job Description
Senior Perception Engineer role focused on building and productizing autonomous driving traffic signal understanding without relying on HD maps.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end Perception and AV stack solutions to support traffic signal detections across driving environments, from complex intersections to rural roads and highways
- Conduct applied research and R&D to develop deep learning models for traffic light detection, traffic sign recognition, road marking detection, construction object detection, and text recognition for traffic signal tasks
- Build generalizable approaches to support diverse ODDs and expand to new country or region requirements
- Lead data-driven development by collaborating with large data collection and labeling teams to increase perception system accuracy via high-value data, including:
- Data collection prioritization and planning
- Labeling prioritization
- Labeling efficiency optimization
- Maximizing the value of collected and labeled data
- Use data simulation and augmentation to address extreme scenarios
- Productize perception solutions by meeting product requirements for safety, latency, and software robustness
Requirements
- Minimum requirement: PhD with 4+ years, MS with 6+ years, or BS (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- Plus: 2+ years of technical leadership showing high technical and organizational complexity
- Hands-on experience developing deep learning and algorithms for sophisticated real-world problems
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks, for example PyTorch
- Experience with data-driven development and collaboration with data and ground truth teams
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++
- Outstanding communication and teamwork skills for a tightly-knit team that shares learning and expertise

Salary: USD 184,000 - 356,500 per year
