Sr. Data Engineer

The University of Vermont Health - UVM Medical Center is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and build enterprise-grade data pipelines and lakehouse architecture within the UVM Health Microsoft Fabric data platform. This role focuses on reliable, scalable integration of data from Epic and operational source systems into a unified data model that supports analytics for clinical care, operations, and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs and builds enterprise-grade data pipelines and lakehouse architecture within the UVM Health Microsoft Fabric data platform.
• Ensures reliable, scalable delivery of high-quality data from Epic and operational source systems into the unified data model.
• Enables downstream analytics supporting clinical care, operations, and quality improvement.
• Acts as a technical lead for complex data integration projects.
• Mentors junior engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or equivalent cloud data platforms.
• Advanced SQL and PySpark skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical components of complex data projects.
• Agile product delivery experience preferred.
