Sr Data Scientist

Sr Data Scientist role in Juno Beach, FL (onsite) supporting renewable energy supply chain decision-making through optimization and Monte Carlo simulation.

Responsibilities

• Build simulation and mathematical optimization models for continuously changing supply chain problems
• Develop decision-support tools that influence supply chain strategy in collaboration with software engineers and data engineers
• Work with internal stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and profitability
• Support and help maintain existing models and tools owned by the team
• Assist with data pipelining to prepare data for modeling
• Develop machine learning, optimization, and other modeling solutions
• Conduct big data and distributed computing work to support modeling and analytics
• Develop software and contribute to product development
• Document observations, analyses, and interpretations of results, including technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 4+ years of experience

Education and Credentials

• BA / BS in a STEM field (operations research, industrial engineering, or management science preferred)
• Master’s degree in the above is not required

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• Doctoral Degree
• 1-3 years of industry experience building mixed integer programming models and Monte Carlo simulations

Technical Skills

• Mathematical Optimization: mixed integer programming, linear programming
• Monte Carlo Simulation

Software and Tools

• R and/or Python
• Optimization algebraic modeling languages: Pyomo and/or AMPL
• Optimization solvers: Gurobi, CBC, CPLEX, Xpress, GAMS
