Job Description

Computer World Services is seeking a Strategic AI Engineer to support the DISA EIIC initiative, applying AI technologies to programs that aid the warfighter. This hybrid role located at Fort Meade, MD combines hands-on development with program analysis and collaboration across government and industry partners. The position offers a salary in the range of $130,000 to $150,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with DISA and industry colleagues to build a thorough understanding of AI technologies and their applications.
  • Stay informed about the latest AI advancements and research directions.
  • Design and deploy AI models spanning machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision for diverse applications.
  • Assess model performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and monitor technical and functional activities, including strategic planning, program analysis, quality assurance, configuration management, workflow governance, and productivity measurement.
  • Participate in program reviews, integrated process teams, and outreach efforts to promote DISA initiatives and secure participation from Combatant Commands (COCOM) or other partners.
  • Provide technical support for pathfinders, proofs-of-concept, and prototypes across multiple domains.
  • Develop program and project level management activities, process improvement recommendations, technology evaluation plans, procedures, metrics, and related documentation.
  • Generate reports, draft memos, transcribe notes, explore topics, and prepare presentations.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and experience with emerging cybersecurity technologies.
  • Proven ability to analyze technology, prepare reports, and deliver briefings.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with comfort speaking publicly.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with a track record of delivering results promptly.
  • DoD 8140 and industry certifications may be required at start (for example, CEH, Sec+).
  • Because of U.S. Government security clearance requirements, applicants must be U.S. citizens and eligible to obtain an interim Secret clearance prior to start by completing the required U.S. government background investigation.
  • Top Secret or SCI clearance may be required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

Other information

Must be within commuting distance of Fort Meade and able to work on-site on a hybrid schedule. Applicants outside commuting distance will not be considered.
