Technology Specialist and Data Analyst
Job Description
Corning is seeking a Technology Specialist and Data Analyst to support the Workplace Services Division (WPS). In this onsite role in Corning, NY, you will help develop and sustain business systems, databases, and reporting platforms, while bringing emerging AI technologies into day-to-day workflows with an emphasis on reliable operational support and user adoption.
The Technology Center provides technology services, software solutions, and data analytics for WPS. You will partner closely with Workplace Services functional teams, including Information Technology, Facility Operations, Global Real Estate, Facility Engineering, Occupancy Planning, and Environmental Health & Safety, to deliver data-driven insights and improve productivity through enterprise technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Use emerging AI and automation technologies, including effective prompting, to improve reporting, workflows, and decision-making.
- Engage AI tools responsibly by protecting confidential information and following company policies, while applying human judgment to verify accuracy, identify bias, and support reliable business decisions.
- Extract, validate, and analyze data from multiple business systems to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and build actionable reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI, SQL, Databricks, and related tools.
- Support Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps and Power Automate, to improve business processes and data collection.
- Maintain data integrity through governance, quality assurance, and validation; analyze trends and patterns to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist with enterprise software application administration tasks such as configuration, testing, upgrades, deployments, sandbox validation, and user acceptance testing.
- Troubleshoot application issues, monitor system performance, and coordinate with IT and business stakeholders to resolve problems and recommend operational improvements.
- Provide user guidance for Microsoft 365 and Workplace Services technologies, collaborating across teams to improve productivity and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred; an associate degree with relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, enterprise systems administration, or related technology roles.
- Microsoft 365, SQL, or related certifications are highly desirable.

Role Purpose and Key Support Areas
This position supports the development, maintenance, optimization, and integration of business systems, databases, reporting platforms, and emerging artificial intelligence technologies for WPS. You will serve as a key resource for business intelligence, reporting, software administration, digital workplace technologies, and Microsoft 365 adoption initiatives while helping ensure reliable and effective operational support.
