Job Description

Boston-based, onsite role with Yoh, A Day & Zimmermann Company focused on strengthening market and security data foundations that support trading, portfolio management, performance, valuation, and reporting.

As a hands-on leader within the Central Data function, you will drive end-to-end governance of the firm’s security master and shape the future-state market data strategy. You will set standards for reference data integrity, oversee data quality and reconciliation across the front-to-back flow, and partner with Technology and Data Management leaders to modernize platforms, lineage, metadata, and control frameworks.

What you’ll do

Own end-to-end governance of the security master, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX.
Define and maintain golden-source standards, including data models, identifier hierarchies (CUSIP, ISIN, SEDOL, FIGI, LEI, and internal IDs), and instrument lifecycle workflows from onboarding through retirement.
Establish data quality controls, exception management, and reconciliation processes across the data flow, resolving breaks that impact trading, operations, accounting, and risk.
Oversee corporate actions, pricing, ratings, classifications, and issuer/entity reference data, including legal entity hierarchies and counterparty data.
Lead sourcing, integration, and quality assurance of real-time, intraday, and end-of-day market data feeds across asset classes.
Manage entitlements and permissioning to ensure adherence to licensing terms and redistribution policies.
Translate evolving investment, trading, and operational data requirements into scalable solutions with strong controls, working with the teams that consume the data.
Monitor industry trends across new content sets, regulatory changes, and vendor product evolution to keep the firm’s capabilities aligned with business needs.
Contribute to the broader data transformation agenda, including data quality, data governance, and AI enablement initiatives, ensuring reference and market data are fit for advanced analytics and AI use cases.
Partner with Technology and Data Management leaders on platform modernization, lineage, metadata, and control frameworks.
Build relationships across Research, CIO, Operations, Reporting, Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Technology.
Create a prioritization framework and delivery roadmap to balance trade-offs and align work with business outcomes.
Own commercial relationships with market and reference data providers, leading contract negotiation, renewals, rationalization, and cost savings opportunities.
Own the market and reference data budget end-to-end, including forecasting, tracking actuals, and ROI tracking for new spend.
