This Data Scientist position applies data science methods and tools to support Department of Defense (DoD) clients in expanding decision space, improving understanding of strategic risk, and evaluating and adjusting enterprise-level campaigns.
Role Summary
In this role, you will perform statistical analysis and build data visualizations to communicate results. Responsibilities include leading projects from scoping through delivery, mentoring junior team members, and presenting insights to technical audiences and senior DoD leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute statistical analyses on large, complex datasets drawn from multiple sources.
- Create production-quality data visualizations, plots, and dashboards tailored to technical and executive audiences.
- Lead data science projects from scoping through delivery, maintaining analytical rigor and alignment with mission objectives.
- Partner with stakeholders to convert strategic questions into analytical approaches and deliver actionable insights.
- Handle ad-hoc analytical requests while balancing competing priorities and deadlines in an agile workflow.
- Mentor junior data scientists and establish best practices for reproducible, well-documented analyses.
- Communicate complex statistical findings to both technical teams and senior DoD leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience with data science, statistical analysis, or quantitative research.
- 6+ years of experience developing algorithms and using R or Python within data analysis libraries, including pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, or Tidyverse.
- 6+ years of experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources.
- Experience with statistics, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, experimental design, and uncertainty quantification.
- Experience with SQL for data management, including managing large-scale data across multiple databases and data warehouses.
- Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed computing frameworks, including Spark or DASK.
- TS/SCI clearance.

Location and Work Model

Compensation and Timing
- Projected compensation range: $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD).
