A data engineer helps translate this data into actionable insights across diverse sources, supporting critical missions such as fraud detection, cancer research, and national intelligence. You will contribute to building advanced technology solutions and executing data engineering activities on mission-driven projects, deploying pipelines and platforms that render disparate data meaningful. You will guide a cross-functional team of analysts, engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile setting, applying your expertise in exploratory data analysis to design, build, and maintain scalable client platforms.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and give meaning to disparate data.
- Contribute to advanced technology solutions and execute data engineering activities on mission-driven projects.
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in an agile environment.
- Apply analytical exploration and data examination techniques while managing assessment, design, build, and maintenance of scalable client platforms.
- Collaborate with clients to uncover data-driven answers that support important missions.
Requirements
- 3+ years deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise software and data systems in secure, air-gapped, or disconnected environments
- 3+ years building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- 2+ years using Python and SQL for data manipulation, automation, and pipeline development
- Experience with distributed data and computing tools such as Spark or Databricks
- Experience developing RESTful APIs in Python to support data ingestion and integration workflows
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), secure deployment practices, and data security controls
- Ability to work on site and operate independently in a SCIF environment with limited connectivity

Work model
- Remote: May require occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility

Compensation
Salary range: USD 62,000 to 141,000 per year. The compensation package includes health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, along with paid leave, professional development opportunities, tuition assistance, work-life programs, and dependent care.
Clearance
Applicants may be required to undergo a security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
