Job Description

Mid-level Data Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton supporting an intelligence community agency's data collection and analysis operations, turning large structured and unstructured data into actionable insights for mission partners.

Responsibilities

  • Apply leadership and analytical skills to support an intelligence community agency's collection and analysis operations.
  • Collaborate with customers to clarify questions and requirements, then explore data-rich environments to uncover relevant information.
  • Develop data integration scripts, perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, build predictive models with machine learning, and combine tools to produce objective insights for informed decision making by mission partners.
  • Explain data context, meaning, and usage to customers, helping them derive value from the data.
  • Contribute to data science initiatives in support of the IC's global mission.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in data science, including quantitative analysis, visualization development, and processing complex data to generate data-driven insights with tools like Python.
  • Proficiency in SQL for complex database queries.
  • Experience with data manipulation and ETL procedures.
  • Experience leveraging APIs to query systems.
  • Experience creating data visualizations, dashboards, or lightweight web applications to communicate insights.
  • Strong ability to communicate findings to audiences with varying technical knowledge, in oral or written formats.
  • Experience leading junior personnel.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and developing technical solutions to address challenges.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Analytics.

Clearance

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Compensation

  • Salary is determined by location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements. Projected compensation range: $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 USD annually. This range represents typical salary and is one component of Booz Allen's total compensation.

Identity verification

  • Identity verification will be part of the hiring process, using biometrics and artificial intelligence to ensure authenticity. Interviews and assessments may require on-camera participation, and Booz Allen may capture images to verify identity and prevent fraud.

Candidate AI usage policy

  • AI is part of Booz Allen's daily work, and the company supports responsible use of AI tools. Use of AI or other tools to assist with responses during interviews is prohibited unless explicit permission is provided.

Work model

  • Remote: May require in-person work at Booz Allen or a customer facility on occasion.
  • Hybrid: Expect frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to a customer facility as needed.
  • Onsite: Primarily work at a Booz Allen office or customer facility in collaboration with colleagues and customers.
