Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of algorithms and systems.
• Use leadership and data science expertise to create real-world impact for the DoD within Cyber Risk Management.
• Partner with clients to understand questions and needs, exploring data-rich environments to assemble the informational pieces that matter.
• Guide teammates and drive the creation of algorithms and systems.
• Apply the right tools and frameworks to convert disparate data points into objective answers that support client decision making.
• Develop a deep understanding of the data, its meaning, and potential uses.
• Draft and manage documentation to enable future analytics, including DSAs, appointment letters, data memorandums, and related documents.
• Develop clear use cases that reflect the operational needs of the client.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Databricks
• 4+ years of experience with data engineering and analytics, delivering actionable insights and performance metrics
• Experience building and maintaining automated ETL pipelines leveraging API integrations to efficiently ingest, transform, and deliver data across systems
• Experience extracting and structuring information from unstructured sources such as reports and documents into clean, analysis-ready data
• Experience mentoring junior analysts
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical teams and executive stakeholders
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• TS/SCI clearance
