Data Scientist

AMT, Inc. is hiring a Data Scientist in Rockville, MD (onsite) to build AI/ML solutions for business processes and data workflows, reporting to the Director of Technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI and ML solutions that leverage AMT business data to address business processes (for example: document information retrieval, project analysis, forecasting)
• Extract and structure data from unstructured sources including proposals, specifications, contracts, and project records
• Design and maintain data pipelines connecting business systems such as ERP, helpdesk, CAD/GIS, and Microsoft 365
• Evaluate AI tools and vendors in collaboration with the AI Steering Committee
• Implement security and data governance standards across all deliverables to support compliance programs
• Communicate findings clearly to engineers, project managers, and executives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Foundation in machine learning and statistics
• Hands-on experience through class, research, internship, or personal work with LLMs, data pipelines, or analytics
• Ability to explain technical work in plain language
