SAIC is hiring a Data Scientist to support the Advanced Analytics Team in Rock Island, IL, working with the Army Vantage Data Analytics System.

Analyze mission data relevant across multiple domains.
Translate and interpret mission needs in mathematical and computational terms.
Design, develop, use, and evaluate mathematical models, methods, and algorithm applications to explore concepts and solve customer problems.
Develop, maintain, and improve complex software algorithms, including processing-intensive analytics, novel process development, and manipulation of large data sets.
Research analytics products and tools for potential integration to strengthen Analytics and AI offerings.
Create new tools and applications using a range of software languages, frameworks, and libraries.
Improve, support, and test an MLOps framework to enable other team members’ analysis work.
Refine and enhance existing applications to better align with the customer’s mission requirements.

Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of relevant experience; additional 4 years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Relational database expertise, including database storage, SQL queries, and primary/foreign keys.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, typescript, Java, and/or JavaScript.
On-the-job knowledge delivering data analytics solutions.
Hands-on experience creating algorithms and engineering tools for data processing, modeling, and simulation.
Practical understanding of machine learning deployment with an emphasis on optimization, including theoretical and numerical methods to refine models.
Experience with Palantir Foundry/Vantage preferred (not required).
Ability to obtain a full Secret Clearance; Interim Secret required prior to start, with SAIC support to obtain.
Current U.S. Citizen requirement.
