Job Description
Mid-level Data Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton, onsite in a SCIF in Alexandria, VA, concentrating on DoD Cyber Risk Management. The role centers on leading algorithm development, guiding project teams, and delivering actionable data insights to support client decision making.
Responsibilities
- Direct team members and oversee the creation of algorithmic solutions and related systems.
- Collaborate with clients to clarify questions and needs, then explore data-rich environments to identify relevant information.
- Apply appropriate tools and frameworks to synthesize disparate data points into objective answers that inform client decisions.
- Provide deep data understanding, explain its meaning, and outline practical uses.
- Prepare and maintain documentation enabling future analytics, including data sharing agreements, appointment letters, and data memorandums.
- Develop clear use cases that reflect the operational needs of the client.
Requirements
- Six or more years of hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Databricks.
- At least four years in data engineering and analytics, delivering actionable insights and measurable performance metrics.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated ETL pipelines that use API integrations to ingest, transform, and distribute data across systems.
- Experience extracting and structuring information from unstructured sources such as reports and documents into clean, analysis-ready data.
- Experience mentoring junior analysts.
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Ability to travel up to 25 percent of the time.
- TS/SCI clearance.

Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
Compensation
Salary at Booz Allen is determined by factors including location, the individual’s education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000 to $225,000 USD annually. The posted range represents typical compensation for this role and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
