Job Description

Pfizer offers a hybrid AI Data Engineer position in Groton, CT, with a yearly salary range of USD 82,700 to 137,900. The Senior Associate role focuses on pharmacokinetics and ADME, leveraging data engineering and MLOps to automate workflows, curate AI-ready datasets, and support scalable AI initiatives across ADME science.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data processing, visualization, and exploratory analyses to support computational workflows using Python.
  • Prepare, structure, and validate data to enable machine learning and data science workflows for AI-enabled ADME use cases.
  • Design, curate, and maintain well-structured datasets and databases covering chemical, biological, and toxicology data in alignment with Pfizer data standards and quality expectations.
  • Contribute to data architecture by implementing scalable, reusable data pipelines and AI-ready data assets.
  • Follow best practices for data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance, including version control, testing, documentation, and reproducible code.
  • Document progress and results clearly, prepare reports and presentations, and participate in team discussions to improve workflows.
  • Stay current with emerging data engineering and computational tools, applying relevant methods and best practices as appropriate.

Requirements

  • M.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline OR B.S. with 2+ years of experience building AI-powered research applications.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling, including pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
  • Experience in a structured, collaborative data and software development environment, with version control such as Git.
  • Understanding of data architecture principles that support scalable AI/ML workflows.
  • Experience deploying tools in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
