AI Engineer

GenNexus Tech Solutions LLP seeks an AI Engineer to build and deploy machine learning and AI-driven solutions for a regulated banking environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models and pipelines supporting banking operations and use cases such as risk, fraud detection, underwriting, customer experience, or process automation
• Write production-grade Python for data processing, model development, and integration with existing systems
• Collaborate with data engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to identify AI/ML opportunities within a regulated banking environment
• Build and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for model training and inference
• Evaluate, fine-tune, and deploy traditional ML models and modern LLM or generative AI solutions where applicable
• Support security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements for banking industry standards
• Document model methodology, performance, and monitoring processes for internal governance and audit purposes
• Coordinate with IT infrastructure teams on deployment, scaling, and monitoring of AI solutions in production

Requirements

• Strong, demonstrable Python development skills with production-level code (not limited to notebooks or scripting)
• Prior experience working within a bank or financial services institution, including direct exposure to banking data, systems, and/or regulatory context
• Experience with core ML/AI libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Hugging Face, LangChain, or similar tools
• Understanding of data engineering fundamentals including SQL and ETL/ELT, plus cloud or on-prem data platform experience
• Experience deploying models to production; MLOps practices and APIs plus containerization are a plus
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with technical and business teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience

Logistics

• Location: Detroit, MI (onsite); candidate should be prepared to work from East Lansing, MI and Detroit, MI as needed
• Work arrangement: Fully on-site, 5 days per week; no remote or hybrid flexibility
• Engagement: Contract-to-hire preferred; client open to direct full-time employment for the right candidate
• Pay: USD 75.00 to 80.00 per hour
