Job Description

Ryan, LLC is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to help design and deliver robust, scalable, and secure AI-driven software systems. This hybrid role in Dallas, TX offers a strong support structure for doing high-impact work end to end, from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll deliver

You will translate business needs into agentic workflows and production-ready full-stack components, taking ownership of complex areas from design through deployment. The role emphasizes correctness, safety, and reliability, with close collaboration across product, UX, QA, DevOps, and engineering leadership.

  • Build agentic systems with LLMs, focusing on tool-use, orchestration, and multi-step flows including verification and validation patterns
  • Develop production full-stack capabilities including APIs, services, and UIs
  • Integrate enterprise applications and services via APIs and middleware
  • Deploy and improve software in Azure cloud environments, including configuring platform deployment scripts and troubleshooting build-release issues
  • Support interoperability testing and feasibility assessments to confirm connected system behavior

Core responsibilities

  • Design and document functional and technical specifications for mid-to-large components
  • Implement and review high-quality code using modern development practices
  • Conduct design and code reviews with emphasis on performance, scalability, and maintainability
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, optimize connected systems, and support CI/CD improvements with QA and DevOps
  • Participate in infrastructure-as-code practices and cloud performance tuning
  • Define evaluation strategies for agent behavior using golden datasets, regression suites, scenario coverage, and reliability checks
  • Instrument and monitor agent behavior using traces, latency/cost metrics, and failure mode analysis to drive iterative improvements
  • Design and execute unit, integration, and automated test cases; analyze failures and propose code fixes; contribute to automation frameworks
  • Translate high-level architecture into low-level designs and maintain design artifacts with architects and staff engineers
  • Understand existing system architecture and communicate trade-offs during design sessions
  • Contribute to project planning and estimation for features and enhancements
  • Lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers, and support knowledge sharing

Skills and experience needed

  • Deep understanding of core programming, system design, and application performance optimization
  • Hands-on experience building agentic systems with LLMs, including tool-use, orchestration, and verification/validation patterns, plus MCPs
  • Proficiency with one or more agentic frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, Microsoft Semantic Kernel, Microsoft AutoGen, or CrewAI
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, maintainable code across at least one modern full-stack
  • Framework experience in the .NET ecosystem with ReactJS is a plus
  • Experience shipping AI/LLM-powered features (agents/agentic frameworks, RAG, tool-calling, workflow automation) into real user workflows
  • Strong full-stack and infrastructure skills: data stores (SQL/NoSQL), Redis, containerization, Kubernetes, and Azure cloud-native services
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Docker, and cloud services (AWS/Azure)
  • Demonstrated ability to design, test, and debug complex systems collaboratively
  • Comfort working with large codebases, managing competing priorities, documenting and communicating technical concepts clearly
  • 6–9 years of software engineering experience and a strong track record delivering production-grade systems
  • Awareness when progress stalls and willingness to seek help or confirmation
