Job Description

At Lockheed Martin Corporation, the Senior AI/ML Engineer will join the Cogniverse simulation team in Fort Worth, Texas, on a hybrid schedule. This role spans the full software lifecycle, with hands-on work in generative AI and reinforcement learning to create high-fidelity training and simulation environments for a broad range of applications. The position emphasizes building advanced AI agents and tooling that empower the Cogniverse platform while navigating research, prototyping, and production transitions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced AI agents and tooling to support the Cogniverse simulation product.
  • Contribute to all phases of the software and system development lifecycle, from requirements generation through design, implementation, testing, integration, and production deployment.
  • Engage in low TRL research, produce proofs of concept, rapidly prototype, and transition solutions to production readiness.
  • Apply state-of-the-art techniques in generative AI and reinforcement learning to construct high-fidelity training and simulation environments for diverse use cases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, another engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of professional experience, or 3 years with a related master’s degree.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern C++.
  • Experience in system software engineering, deploying AI-first systems, AI/ML development, data curation and data pipelines, and building software for mission systems in a DoD context (mission management and/or battle management).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to be eligible for clearance.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. Citizen to be considered. Clearance level: Secret.

Remote Work

Part-time remote telework is available: you will work part of your schedule remotely and part on-site at a Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly arrangement will be determined during the hiring process.

Work Schedules

Lockheed Martin supports various alternate work schedules to offer flexibility. Schedules may run 40 hours over five days or be condensed to provide additional time off, in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this position

4x10 hour days, three days off per week.

Salary

USD 108,800 - 216,890 per year.
