Job Description
This senior staff AI and ML role focuses on signal processing and leads AI initiatives within LAIC.
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply AI technologies across projects, including computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning to tackle complex signal processing challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
- Engage in all phases of the system development lifecycle, from requirements generation and system design to implementation, integration, and flight testing.
- Take ownership of critical tasks and lead technical teams to produce high‑quality solutions.
- Contribute to proposals and whitepapers to secure funding for AI research and development initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers to grow the team’s capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and deploy AI solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Engage with other Lockheed Martin teams to identify opportunities for AI adoption and application.
Requirements
- Strong background in software engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
- Solid foundation in signal processing theory and applications such as radar, communication, electronic warfare, sonar, audio, or biomedical domains.
- Experience with current AI paradigms, including computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and solid time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or mathematics.
- 8+ years of experience in AI or a related field.
- Engage with other Lockheed Martin teams to identify opportunities for AI adoption and application.
