AI / Machine Learning Engineer Staff (Electronic Warfare)
Job Description
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Staff AI / Machine Learning Engineer for Electronic Warfare in Fort Worth, TX (hybrid). The role offers a salary range of USD 132,900 to 264,960 per year, depending on location and scope.
Responsibilities
- Apply current AI approaches, including computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning, to tackle complex signal processing challenges and deliver innovative EW solutions.
- Contribute across the full system development lifecycle from requirements and design to implementation, integration, and flight testing.
- Own critical tasks and lead technical teams to deliver robust AI-enabled solutions.
- Contribute to proposals and whitepapers to secure funding for AI research and development initiatives.
- Take on technical lead responsibilities and mentor junior engineers to foster growth and expertise.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure successful project execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy AI solutions.
- Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Engage with other Lockheed Martin teams to identify AI adoption opportunities and applications.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in software engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
- Solid background in signal processing theory and applications (radar, communications, electronic warfare, sonar, audio, or biomedical).
- Experience with AI paradigms such as computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and good time management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Collaborate with other Lockheed Martin teams to identify AI adoption opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in AI or a related area.

Work Schedules
Lockheed Martin offers a variety of alternate work schedules to provide flexibility. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over five days to condensed options, in addition to Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Rate
Annual base salary ranges depend on location:
- California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding most major metro areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC: $132,900 - $234,370
- Most major metro areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York: $152,900 - $264,960
- For states not referenced above, the range will reflect the final work location
