Own the semantic layer that turns business definitions into governed, trustworthy metrics on Clayco’s Snowflake platform.

Build semantic models on the Snowflake platform, including tests and documentation as part of the final deliverable
Translate business logic from finance, operations, and project controls into models that stand up to auditing
Migrate legacy reporting logic onto governed semantic models and support retiring replaced logic
Maintain model reliability as upstream source systems change, preventing silent breakage of trusted fields and calculations
Respond to business definitional questions and document the answers

Strong SQL skills, including window functions and complex joins, plus judgment to ensure correctness beyond returning rows
High attention to numeric accuracy, with willingness to investigate even small variances (for example, a few hundred dollars) when it indicates logic issues
Persistence in understanding calculations, including the ability to say when the logic is not followed yet and continue until it is
Cross-team communication to reconcile differences between groups’ reports and help drive agreement on a single answer
Early-career hiring is possible if fundamentals and curiosity are strong; senior engineers will be available for learning and support
Dimensional modeling experience, dbt, or construction background are welcome but not required

Clients and projects are nationwide; travel is required
Classified as a safety-sensitive role under applicable state and federal laws
Selected candidates will undergo a comprehensive background check that includes mandatory drug testing
