Applied AI Engineer II - Encore Program

What you’ll do

In the Applied AI Engineer II - Encore Program track, you will build and enhance high-visibility full-stack products that incorporate applied AI and agentic capabilities. You will collaborate across functions to deliver end-to-end solutions from concept through production, while keeping delivery aligned to feasibility, value, usability, and measurable quality.

• Drive accountability for customer and business outcomes, including cost of execution.
• Design and implement high-quality, lean engineering solutions for complex problems, with ownership across inference, token, and cloud cost.
• Act as a technical advocate for products, supporting code integrity, feasibility, and alignment with business and customer goals.
• Participate across the delivery lifecycle, including requirement analysis, component design, development, testing, integrations, and support.
• Maintain responsibility for design integrity, implementation fidelity to the architecture and tech stack, and ongoing maintenance and operations.
• Produce technical specifications and create supportable, scalable code that meets quality KPIs.
• Use rapid, inexpensive experimentation to develop lean solutions and navigate complexity with an action and evidence mindset.
• Collaborate with empowered cross-functional teams such as product management and delivery, integrating diverse perspectives to reach sound decisions.
• Contribute to full automation from discovery through production to operations using AI and Agentic SSDLC with quality checks through the SSDLC lifecycle.
• Engage customers and product teams before, during, and after delivery to ensure the right solution lands at the right time.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, machine learning, or a related discipline. 3+ years of experience is the most relevant factor.
• 3+ years with a combination of Angular, React, NodeJS, Python, C#, .NET, Java, SQL/NoSQL, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, LangGraph, and unit testing frameworks.
• 2+ years building AI/ML and agentic applications, including hands-on GenAI work with LLM integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models), RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, vector databases, evaluations, and AI agent orchestration.
• 2+ years cloud-native engineering experience using FaaS, PaaS, or micro-services on Azure, AWS, or GCP, including AI/ML services such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Vertex AI, plus application-level infrastructure-as-code and cost-aware engineering (FinOps accountability).
• Software engineering experience with Business Context Diagrams (BCD), sequence/activity/state/entity relationship/data flow diagrams, OOP/OOD, data structures and algorithms, and AI-augmented spec-driven development.
• Experience with methodologies and tools such as XP, Lean, DevSecOps, SRE, ADO, GitHub, SonarQube, MLflow, and agentic AI frameworks (for example, LangFuse, LangSmith, or equivalent multi-agent orchestration tools) to deliver high-quality products rapidly.
• Ability to travel 10%, on average.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
• Must be located within a commutable distance to one of the select locations and work from the local office at least 3 days per week.

Compensation

The annual wage range for this role is $102,500 to $188,900. Deloitte notes the range reflects factors used in compensation decisions and is not typically adjusted to the top of the range at hire.
