Job Description
Polk Mechanical Company is seeking a Data Analyst to design and publish Power BI reports and dashboards across Finance, Operations, Project Management, and executives.
Responsibilities
- Create and publish Power BI reports and dashboards for Finance, Operations, Project Management, and executive stakeholders across TriplePoint MEP brands.
- Leverage semantic models and datasets prepared by the Data Architect; implement DAX measures, build calculated columns, and tailor report layouts to audience needs.
- Provide reporting across core domains including WIP and Percentage of Completion (POC), project margin analysis, AR aging by project, field service KPIs, payroll and labor costs, and multi-entity financial summaries.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Project Management to gather requirements, validate outputs, and iteratively refine reports to answer business questions.
- Maintain and enhance existing Power BI dashboards by refreshing data, repairing visuals, and incorporating stakeholder feedback on a regular cadence.
- Validate IFS Cloud data in Power BI against source records; identify and escalate discrepancies before leadership reviews.
- Support the IFS lobby migration project by developing Power BI based alternatives to native IFS lobbies where approved.
- Document report logic, measure definitions, and data sources to grow the BI knowledge base over time.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Power BI report development experience, focusing on well-structured, performant, audience-appropriate reports.
- Strong DAX proficiency including time intelligence, iterators, context transition, and financial calculation patterns (margins, variances, YTD/MTD, rolling averages).
- Experience in construction, MEP contracting, field service, or project-based accounting, specifically WIP/POC, job costing, retainage, and project billing.
- Working knowledge of at least one ERP or construction/service platform such as IFS, ComputerEase, Vista by Viewpoint, Sage Intacct, or equivalent.
- Solid SQL skills to query source data, validate outputs, and understand underlying data structures.
- Experience in governed Power BI environments, including certified datasets, deployment pipelines, workspace permissions, and row-level security.
- Strong stakeholder communication; ability to clarify requirements before building and present to leadership without excessive technical detail.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Azure-based data platforms is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Information Systems, or related field preferred; equivalent demonstrated experience will be considered.

What success looks like
- Finance and Operations leaders rely on your dashboards for monthly close, project reviews, and weekly operational check-ins.
- WIP and POC reports are live, reconciled to source, and used rather than printed and manually checked against spreadsheets.
- Every published report includes documentation on what it measures, data sources, and key business rules.
- Stakeholders request new reports because existing ones deliver repeatable value.
- You collaborate effectively with the Data Architect, follow governance standards, and flag model issues before they become dashboard problems.
Why you will love working here

- Competitive pay with 401(k) match and comprehensive benefits.
