Job Description

This role supports Purdue University Student Life by turning operational data into actionable reporting for day-to-day operations and programming decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and improve reporting for Student Life across operational and programming areas.
  • Develop data summaries and reports, and present findings to internal and external constituents.
  • Oversee metrics preparation, analyze historic trends, and deliver dashboard reporting to support strategic decision-making and requested information.
  • Support the design and implementation of new processes to meet ongoing data needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis
  • Experience with data management/reporting, data analysis/presentation, relational databases, data visualization tools, data query tools, and basic statistical analysis
  • Background managing, building, and analyzing large data sets
  • Coursework in Data/Database Management, Computer & Information Technology, and Financial Management
  • Experience and understanding of university operations, including budgeting, financial management, and programming functions
  • Strong skills in communication, problem-solving, organization, project management, and customer service
  • Demonstrated quantitative analytical ability to solve complex problems with little or no precedent guidance
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and synthesize data into clear, precise formats and presentations
  • Capability to produce timely and accurate reports aligned to customer requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet frequent deadlines
  • High accuracy with strong attention to detail
  • Capacity to focus on key issues and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate and build working relationships at all levels
