Data Analyst 3, Supply Chain Inventory
Job Description
Context: Nordstrom’s MISO (Inventory) team is seeking a data analytics individual contributor to deliver inventory merchandising insights and strategic operational analytics.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and evolve Looker dashboards and self-service tools used by Merch Ops, Inbound Flow, RP, and Supplier Compliance
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand analytics needs and translate open-ended questions into clear, reliable answers
- Own data models and BigQuery queries behind inventory reporting, emphasizing accuracy, scalability, and reuse
- Develop and maintain Python and Airflow pipelines to keep key datasets fresh, validated, and monitored
- Support migration from legacy reporting and data sources to Looker, BigQuery, and newer platform tools while ensuring numbers carry over accurately
- Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code and Claude Desktop to speed analysis, automate repetitive workflows, and improve output quality
- Perform ad hoc analysis to explain inventory, inbound, replenishment, and supplier trends; present findings to business partners and leadership
- Coordinate with Data Engineering, Insights, and Technology teams on data dependencies and platform changes
- Share learnings with the team; help establish standards for building and documenting analytics and enable others to use the tools effectively
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Computer Science, or related field required
- 4+ years of data analytics experience with a demonstrated ability to deliver business-critical analytics independently and elevate analytical standards across a team
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development and productivity tools (e.g., Claude Code, Claude Desktop) to accelerate analysis and automate data workflows
- Advanced SQL skills with hands-on BigQuery experience; strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and query construction
- Ability to build and maintain data pipelines and lightweight automation in Python, including validation, monitoring, and workflow scripts; hands-on Airflow experience for scheduling and orchestration
- Proficiency with at least one leading visualization tool; Looker preferred, including operational dashboarding best practices
- Strong operational business understanding of downstream effects across inventory flow, supplier performance, and replenishment decisions impacting cost and service
- Supply chain expertise in retail or consumer goods preferred, with familiarity in inbound operations, inventory, replenishment, or supplier compliance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting insights to business stakeholders and operational leadership

Additional Details
- Location: Seattle, WA (hybrid)
- Compensation: USD 102,500 - 170,500 per year
- Pay offers depend on location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
- This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses
